The lacewing larva is a tiny bug that loves to carry things on its back. It will grab anything that it sees and place it upon its back. It never worries about carrying too many things or that its pile is growing heavier. As long as it can still move, it will keep adding things to its pile, until it is weighed down, and cannot move anymore.
The lacewing larva loves to climb with its hefty load. The higher the place, the more it wants to go. It will climb until all its strength is exhausted. Finally, it will drop dead on the floor.
Many greedy people cannot stop thinking about how to gain more status and power, or even more wealth. When they are finally exhausted or defeated, they might regret being so greedy in the first place. They have all heard stories about people losing everything due to greed. Yet, they were unable to learn from those lessons.
Alas! These people are no different to the tiny lacewing larva. We cannot help but feel sorry for them!
